Pregnancy piles are the last thing that you want on your mind when going through pregnancy. Sounds good, right? Read on to see the advice that worked for me and can help you get rid of them as well.

-Take a “sitz bath” every day. A sitz bath is just a bath filled with warm water. You will want to soak in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes at least once a day. This provides instant relief from swelling, itching, pain, and tension. The bath is also quite relaxing and can be extremely effective at fighting the root cause of hemorrhoids and getting them cleared up in no time.

-Sleep on your left side at night. Sleeping on your side in general takes the tension off of the piles and will fight the swelling while you sleep. When you sleep on your left side it also helps for pregnancy because it allows nutrients to better flow to the placenta and reduces the swelling of your hands and feet.

Using these tips I found it helped my pregnancy piles to clear up much more rapidly and get me back to where I could focus on everything else going on in my life. Pregnancy is one of the busiest and most important times in your life and piles and hemorrhoids should be taken care of as fast as possible so you can get back to everything else that you are dealing with! Don’t wait another moment, take action now!

Early pregnancy and its different stages make a mother out of a woman. But before reaching the destination of motherhood, she has to journey through the rough terrain of the early stages of pregnancy, which can be quite eventful. No two pregnant women have same problem, some sail smoothly while others may have to be bed ridden for the next nine months. Some may feel like eating all the time and others might have nausea by just looking at food.

Morning Sickness and other problems

The pregnancy period is divided into three trimesters with the body going through different changes in each stage. The first trimester or the early stage of pregnancy is the most difficult and dangerous. A little mistake can lead to miscarriage or other disastrous complications. There are discomforts one has to endure, mainly morning sickness. It is perhaps the most common problem of pregnant women. The pregnant woman may feel nauseated, lethargic and her vomiting tendency might increase. A slight strong smell (which might have been alluring to her before) can trigger a vomit.

There are many old wives’ tales to counter morning sickness and some are useful like smelling a stale bread first thing in the morning. If the problem becomes acute, the doctor can prescribe medicines which are quite remedial.

Some women with history of breathing problems may find themselves breathless from time to time and should consult their doctor if the period of breathlessness increases. Chances of Urinary tract infection increases during this period and this can lead to vaginal discharge. Consultation with the doctor is necessary if the discharge is pale yellow in color and foul smelling.

Eating Problems

In the first few weeks or the very early stages of pregnancy, a pregnant woman might vomit at the mere sight of some food and gorge on other foods. But as the baby grows, pressure in the abdominal cavities is increased leading to indigestion which causes heartburn. Constipation is another major problem troubling her as her pregnancy progresses. To counter it, one must eat in moderation but frequently and avoid spicy and oily foods. Consumption of green vegetables and fibres are a must as they help to keep the bowels clean.

Hormonal Problems

The whole body and mood of a woman is controlled by hormones and during early pregnancy they take more control of the body than before. Mood swings are common: she may feel on top of the world one moment and very low in the next. She becomes more sentimental and the slightest reason can trigger an outburst. It is the time when family can play a great role, especially her partner. He has to be sympathetic and empathetic so that her mood swings can be controlled.

All these problems which are more pronounced in the early pregnancy stages fade by the next trimester and can be considered as a necessary hardship in return of the prize of a baby in the arms. When after nine months of hard labour, a woman holds her baby for the first time, its innocence and smile allows her to forget all the trouble she had undergone in the early pregnancy period. That is the ultimate joy of motherhood.

I subscribe to something called “Google alerts” and one of my topics is “children’s rights”. Today something popped up about child pregnancies that really shocked me.

Two nine year old girls became mothers in Chiang Mai, South East Asia according to a survey by the Provincial Administration Department. The national survey conducted from 2000 to 2009 is frightening in its contents. There were eight years who gave birth aged 10, fifteen who had children at the age of 11, seventy five aged 12 and four hundred and eighty one girls became mothers aged 13 years old.

This prompted me to look at what is going on in other parts of the world. The average age of the first menstrual period in the Us is 12 years old although this figure varies according to ethnicity. Save The Children found that annually 13 million children are born to women under age 20 worldwide, more than 90% in devloping countries. Complications of pregnancy and childbirth are the leading cause of mortality among women between the ages 15 and 19 in such areas. The highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the world is in sub-Saharan Africa where women tend to marry at an early age.

Among OECD developed countries the US and New Zealand have the highest level of teenage pregnancy while Japan and South Korea have the lowest. The overall trend in Europe since 1970 has been a decreasing fertility rate. This is due to good sex education and high levels of contraceptive use (eg. Netherlands and Scandinavia), traditional values and social stigmatisation (Spain and Italy) or both eg. Switzerland.

The teenage birth rate in the US is the highest in the developed world (Wikipedia) and the teenage abortion rate is also high. In Europe Denmark, Sweden and France all show a high rate of abortions.

“Abortion is not permitted in Ireland unless there is a real and substantial risk to the life (as distinct from the health of the mother. This includes a risk arising from a threat of suicide. Women may not be prevented from travelling abroad to get an abortion. It is lawful to provide information in Ireland about abortions abroad, subject to strict conditions. It is not lawful to encourage or advocate an abortion in individual cases” Citizens Advice Bureau.

The HSE runs a Crisis Pregnancy Programme which has produced a number of resources to assist parents in providing relationship and sex education to their children. These take the form of booklets with age appropriate information to help parents explain the facts of life to their children. I have recently been speaking with John Flannery of Aids West whose team also provides sex education in schools. This is a great complement to how parents themselves are preparing children to deal with their sexuality.

The woman’s role is merely communicate to the man if it’s getting painful or pleasurable. On the other hand, in the woman on top position, the woman is the one taking charge. She positions herself on top of the man, while dictating the rhythm of the act with the upward and downward motion of her body. Just make sure to pause for a while when it gets uncomfortable.
