When you are young, it’s easy to walk around as if nothing can ever go wrong in your life. Although you had acne for a few months as a teen, you got through that. Now the rest of your life is going to be smooth sailing. So what if there are a few extra hairs in your comb or caught in the drain after you finish your shower. This is nothing to worry about. Except the sad reality is that anyone, no matter what their age or gender, can lose their hair. It can be heredity, caused by some underlying medical condition, a side effect of a drug you are taking. The list goes on. Unless you are taking preventative measures to reduce the risk of hair loss, you need guidance on when to seek a formal diagnosis. Too early and you wasted your money because your doctor could find nothing wrong. Too late and there’s little chance of any treatment helping the hair to regrow. For the record, male pattern baldness can begin during your teens and this is permanent hair loss. Why permanent? Because the growth cycle shortens and every time you shed your hair, it grows back thinner and more likely to fall out. As this speeds up, your hair stops regrowing and there’s no cure.
This is what to think about. At some point, you will notice more hair than usual is falling out. Make a note of the date. If possible, get someone in the family or a friend to take pictures of your head so you can monitor any changes to the shape of the hair. Then watch what happens. Is the loss only occasional or is it continuous? If you have good days and bad days, think about what you eat and what you did. Is there a cause and effect at work? In particular, look for anything that might make the loss worse. Now look around the family. If you are cut off from most of your relatives, ask if there is any history of hair loss on either side of the family.
This gives you enough information about the emerging physical pattern and the rate of loss to share with your doctor. There will be a physical examination of your scalp to judge the appearance of your hair, e.g. whether any hairs are broken off. There is usually a pull test to see how many come out, and skin samples taken to eliminate the possibility of an infection. There will also be a review of your medical history and general wellness to identify any underlying problems such as thyroid disease that may be causing the loss. If this is simple male pattern baldness, the standard treatment is generic propecia. This is taken once-daily and, over time, slows loss and encourages some regrowth. The benefits are lost and hair loss will resume if you stop taking propecia. Some commitment to continuing treatment is necessary. More generally, there are preventative measures in changing the way you handle your hair and modifying your diet. Your doctor or dermatologist will advise on how to minimize the effects of hair loss.

Whenever the subject of autism is brought up, very special care and attention needs to be given. This is due to the highly-sensitive nature of the disorder. For centuries, Autism has been viewed as a medical condition that is different from others. For one, it is a condition that affects children specifically and secondly, one that is fairly misunderstood by the common masses.
This article hopes to address some of the common issues associated with autism and autistic kids. These children are often regarded as a special and unique breed. Without proper understanding, these children will be trapped in a world of their own and have no chance at all to lead a proper life and one that is deemed to be “normal” and accepted by the general society as a whole.
Before we even proceed, let’s take a look at what “normal” is in the eyes of the society. When we talk about children being normal, we have a notion that they are lively, talkative, enjoys receiving attention, enjoys making friends, have a tendency to indulge in group activities, are able to communicate their thoughts and wishes to their parents, guardians or/and peers and so on. When one or more of these elements are absent, parents (or guardians who happen to spend the bulk of time with these children) should rightfully be able to notice the change.
Signs of autism include a drastic change in behavioral patterns. For instance, a once talkative child can turn to become one that is totally reserved and who will keep everything to himself. A once polite and well-mannered child can turn to be aggressive and have a tendency for violence for no apparent reason at all. Without proper understanding and guidance, these children can go on to face many further complications. They would forever be condemned in a world that is not theirs to be chosen with no apparent way out.
To top it off, there have been a lot of apparent overlapping of signs and symptoms of autism. For instance, signs such as being reserved or having a short attention span could be mistaken for being shy in nature. Without proper understanding and counseling, these problems can go unchecked and complicate other matters further.
Comparatively, the technology and science in the medical field have made it possible for an early diagnosis to be given. This is due to the many efforts of professionals in the field conducting detailed research where autism is concerned. With that, children suffering from autism can have the highest possible chance of living and leading a life that closely resembles that of a normal individual. There are many programs for autistic children to get involved in; many support groups to help in handling the issue and much more.
It is entirely up to the parents, guardians and the society as a whole to help these special breed of children. Parents and guardians can play their part by being as attentive and observant as they possibly are able to while the society can play a big part by learning to accept autism as a genuine medical condition that can be addressed with proper understanding and guidance.

There are many benefits of choosing an online fitness program over a live personal trainer. In this article, I will focus on the most important ones. I will also mention and recommend Global Health and Fitness’ online fitness program ( http://www.popularfitness.com/global-fitness.html ) because in my opinion they are the leaders in this field on the web. Not only have they been online since 1997, more importantly they have helped hundreds of people over the years achieve their fitness goals. They are associated with many well-known fitness-related professionals and have also been featured in numerous fitness articles.

Most people cannot afford to have a trainer to offer them guidance and support whenever they need it. With online fitness programs you can receive advice almost any time of the day. Got a question that pops in your head while your at work? You can email the fitness program and receive a prompt reply. Something live personal trainers just cannot do.
Inexpensive and extensive area of expertise.
Most live trainers specialize in general fitness only whereas Global’s fitness program includes 30 highly qualified professionals from every fitness-related field. Not only do you receive help with your workouts, but you will receive nutrition advice, injury and rehabilitation training help for a specific sporting event or competition, your medical questions answered, motivational help and more. There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to whether or not kids should lift weights. The common theory is that the child should have at least reached puberty before they engage in a sport such as weight lifting. This will also depend on the individual child.
As a child is growing the connective ligaments and cartilage are not fully formed and can be injured or torn if too much stress is placed on the joints. This often occurs when the exercises are being done improperly and no set program is in place. With the correct program and the proper supervision I feel that a child as young as twelve or thirteen can certainly begin a weight training program providing it is done with the utmost attention to safety and proper form. The child must understand the dangers involved and the potential for injury if they don’t do the exercises the correct way.
I started lifting at twelve years old and didn’t have the proper instruction or supervision. I learned the hard way by injuring myself several times because I really didn’t know what I was doing. All I knew is that I wanted to get big like the guys I saw in the magazines. I soon learned that it was going to take a lot of hard work and effort if I was going to get anywhere in this sport.
If you are asking yourself, should kids lift weights, then you might have a child that is interested. What you need to do is educate yourself the best you can and know that your child will be relying on you for the supervision and guidance to help them get the most out of weight lifting that they can. You will have to dedicate a lot of time and energy to see that they are doing it the correct way and not at risk for injury. You will become their coach and training partner. It is a great way to bond with your child and will be remembered for years to come. I started my son out when he was thirteen and it is something we enjoy doing together and will always have that bond.
Get the right program from the start. It will help cut down on the learning curve. Just because you may have lifted in the past doesn’t mean that it is the best way for your child. Remember it’s the child that we are concerned about here.
