Have you ever noticed one car with sleek headlights that are a very different color than the average halogen headlights that you are now so used to? Chances are that what you were looking at were HID headlights that are becoming more popular as each day passes. It is true that these tend to be more on the expensive side, but there are good reasons for it.

First of all they last longer, a lot longer than halogen bulbs which means a heck of a lot longer than the average household light bulb. Second of all they work better. People who get good quality HID conversion kits experience an average of about three times more light than what they got from the previous halogen headlights. In some cases up to five times more light is produced.

If you compare halogen and HID headlights one huge key difference will stick out at you immediately. Halogen headlights have filaments encased in quartz that is of course filled with halogen gases while HID headlights have tubes filled with different gases that react to create an arc that produces the light without the use of filaments.

As said before HID conversion kits use headlights that work by having an electric current course through gases that respond by creating an arc that gives you more light than you could ever get from the halogen headlights that you probably have in your car right now. Because it doesn’t use filaments, the way household light bulbs and halogen headlights do HID conversion kits last a lot longer than anything you use now. They can last as long as our car.

The reason other light bulbs burn out is because the filaments that allow electricity to flow through eventually wear down and snap ending the flow of the current. This happens rather quickly with household light bulbs because as the filaments begin to break down they deposit on the bulb. Halogen headlights last a lot longer than household light bulbs because the filaments are somewhat protected by a quartz tube that is filled with halogen gases the halogen gases allow the bits of the filament that are broken down to undergo a reaction allowing them to be deposited back onto the filament significantly improving the life of each filament. The HID lights last the longest because they don’t have filaments that break down over time.

Despite all of these wonderful improvements that come with the HID lights it would take a long time for them to heat enough for there to be visible light. However, thanks to xenon and their break through we are past this problem. Now there is xenon added to the gas mixture to help produce the light faster than you would have it otherwise.

Two decent HID conversion kits are the HID xenon conversion kit and the McCulloch conversion kit. The McCulloch conversion kit claims that it is easy enough for anybody at home to put in their car, but it is always better to find a mechanic willing to and get their opinions on the best HID conversion kits available.

For many people Newsletter or Ezine creation is shrouded in absolute mystery.

How do I know?

Well listen to this story…

The other day I was contacted by a lady who wanted to know which authority she had to apply to in order to obtain her Newsletter Editor’s License.

Wait a minute….did you say “NEWSLETTER EDITOR’S LICENSE”?

Yep – that’s right – I was being asked where the average Joe should go to apply to be given the right to publish their own Newsletter (or Ezine for that matter).

Oh…and also…how much would it cost them?

Hmm…now before you roll about the floor laughing, just think about this for a moment.

While most people do realize that you don’t actually require a license to write whatever the heck you like – I’ve gotta tell you – that’s NOT the first time I’ve been asked that exact same question.

Now in my view, if you’re asked the same question by more than one person within a short period of time, then there’s probably an army of others who think the same thing, but just haven’t plucked up the courage to ask the question!

Now obviously the answer is that you DON’T require a license to publish your own Ezine or Newsletter – at least not in the free world.

…But the question is a revealing one, as it points to the fact that a lot of people out there are still confused about how to become a successful Newsletter editor.

So now, based on actual questions asked by the public, I’ve compiled my TOP EIGHT questions asked about newsletters.

And here goes…

Q.

SHOULD I PUBLISH ON OR OFFLINE?

A. Only you can answer this question.

Broadly speaking an online Ezine – delivered by email or via your website – has a big cost advantage of being near free to produce. But an offline printed newsletter has greater impact.

Q. WHERE DO I ACTUALLY START WHEN CREATING MY NEWSLETTER?

A. Start by sitting down and creating an outline plan for your new newsletter. How many articles and features will you require for example? Then sketch out a rough format before you do anything else.

Q. SHOULD MY EZINE BE IN PLAIN TEXT?

A. Conventionally Ezine publishing has been done in plain text, but increasingly many people’s email systems can read HTML. There are many considerations and you might want to ask about your specific newsletter on a helpful forum like the http://www.HowToCorpHelp.com/htforum where other more experienced newsletter editors will be able to provide you with personalized advice for your situation.

Q. SHOULD MY NEWSLETTER BE PRINTED IN COLOR?

A. If you’re printing your newsletter, then your biggest choice will be the use of “color”, “black & white”, or what’s known as “spot color” printing. This is largely a cost consideration, but don’t forget how important design can be to creating the right impression. I’ve seen lots of EXCELLENT black and white printed newsletters!

Q. HOW WILL I FIND READERS FOR MY NEWSLETTER?

A. That’s partly dependent on your subject matter of course, but if you’re trying to attract readers via the web, then there are a whole host of tactics that you should employ. Subscriber buttons, popups and exitpops are just some of them, but all the most sought after newsletters actually offer a gift to new subscribers too. This can be a free report or something else of value.

Q. SHOULD I ACCEPT ADVERTISING FROM DAY ONE?

A. Advertisers are usually looking for a good subscriber base, before they’ll pay you to advertise in your Ezine. So concentrate on getting the basics right before you consider opening up advertising space. Remember to put your reader first at all times.

Q. CAN I RECOMMEND ITEMS THAT I’M AFFILIATED TO?

A. Yes. But don’t do this unless you really are in LOVE with the product you are recommending. Check it out for yourself first and be faithful to the needs of your readership, by only recommending relevant items.

Q. WILL I NEED A LICENSE TO PUBLISH MY NEWSLETTER OR EZINE?

A. Absolutely not in most parts of the world. It’s good old free speech and you can write what you like!

Best withes with your own Newsletter or Ezine. Michael.

Fasting Health and Weight Loss Consequences

Many people consider fasting in order to lose weight. Fasting involves eating no little or no food for an extended period of time, and drinking only water or juice during that time, depending on the specific regimen.

Fasting is popular because it detoxifies the body to some degree. But can it really help you lose weight as well? The answer is yes, to a degree, you will probably lose weight during a fast. However, for several other reasons, fasting is not necessarily the most effective weight loss tool.

First, the weight you lose while fasting tends to come back after the fast. You’re usually hungry after a fast, so what do you do? You eat a lot. I think you know where all those calories are going to go. Second, even though most fasting programs encourage you to drink a lot of water, much of the weight you lose during a fast is still water weight. Remember that you ingest a lot of water as part of the food you eat every day (for instance, apples are around 80% water by volume). If you’re not eating the foods you usually eat, it’s hard to figure out exactly how much water intake you’re missing. Water weight, of course, also returns when your fast ends.

Fasters do have the right idea in that they are aiming to manipulate their metabolism and calorie intake. But a more moderated approach is more effective. A dieting technique called calorie cycling rotates between light eating and heavier eating in order to modify the metabolism more gradually and results in much longer-lasting and more effective weight loss than fasting. Calorie cycling may be employed through the popular diet plan FatLoss4Idiots, which generates custom meal plans based on the foods you like best, and increases your metabolism so that your body burns more fat every day. (It’s a heck of a lot easier to stick with than a fast, too!)
