Yes everyone it’s that time of year once again when many will eat as much as they can and then, go into “life reflecting mode” and will make New Year’s resolutions but break them within the first 3 months of the New Year. Guess what the number one New Year’s resolution is? You guessed it, losing weight.
Why do most people fail at weight loss?
So why do so many people fail at fat loss and what can you do to ensure your success for this new year? Well this is what this article is about so keep reading.
1. No silver bullet or magic potions.
The first thing you need to realize is that there is no magic weight loss pill or silver bullet for losing weight and getting in shape. Permanent weight loss requires consistent effort and some dedication. The first thing you need to do is stop looking for a short cuts.
Sure you will find many fad diets around and I guarantee you don’t even go looking they will find you, and you might see some mediocre results with some of these “quick fix” diets out there but none of them are sustainable and they will inevitably come to an end, so once the diet is over, so is the weight loss. Think about it, who can eat one meal a day with only 200 calories forever? That is not even living that’s torcher, and yet many people will fall for these diets with the hope of losing weight.
2. No real commitment or plan.
If you are serious about shedding pounds for good, and you want to increase your chances for success, then you must write down a plan, with your goals and your intended results. Most people start a program with no goals or real plans clearly defined. Write down what you want to accomplish (your overall goal) and break them up into smaller manageable and achievable increments. Write down why you need to lose weight, all your reasons and what your main motivating factor is.
Invest in a good weight loss personal journal, and have it close by so you can review your progress and goals often.
3. Embrace change with a positive attitude!
Make changes to your physical surroundings and I would suggest you start with your kitchen. Get rid of all the junk foods and fattening snacks and replace them with healthy wholesome nutritious foods. What some people fail to realize is that you can eat as much as you want and still lose weight! I am taking about great tasting foods that are just as great tasting and satisfying as the junk food, but with far fewer calories and extra junk. Eat to your heart’s content; you just have to make sure it’s the right kind of foods. Despite what you might have been told, all calories are not created equal, so make right food choices.
Dedicate a place in or around your home where you can do some simple workouts. You have to approach your mission like a business, and that’s because it is serious business! If you are going to go walking then identify a place that is close to home, convenient, and safe.
4. Seek out other like-minded people who will hold you accountable.
You should not try to do this on your own. You know that if left up to you, you might not feel like walking today, so you need others who will help to motivate you, keep you on track and it’s a lot more fun doing it with a partner who also wants the same thing.
5. Get a comprehensive weight loss system
Effective and permanent weight loss all starts with a high quality program. Whenever you are looking at a program make sure it incorporates the most important fat loss elements such as a proper nutritious diet with a sound, fulfilling dietary meal plans for your entire day with an extensive variety of recipes, a good workout plan that will boost your metabolism so you can supercharge your results, one that will support you along the way and includes great strategies and proven techniques for permanent losing the weight. You need a plan that will track your progress and evaluating your results as you move toward the body you have always wanted.

There are certain things that we can do in order to keep us on our weight loss plans and cure obesity once and for all. Remember that the biggest thing with any weight loss program is that its not about the program itself, rather how much you time and hard work you invest into your program. It’s 2011, a new year to start over and change the way we look forever. Below are some helpful weight loss tips to keep you on the right path in 2011:
1. Keep a Weight Loss Log- In this log make sure you track your exercise/workouts that you have completed for the day as well as what you have consumed on that day. Once a week, record your weight in your log and see your progress. Doing simple things like recording these things can really help you stick to your program.
2. Incentives- Tell yourself that if you can lose 8-12 pounds this month than you can reward yourself with buying that new pair of shoes tat you have wanted for some time now. Giving monthly incentives like this will also help keep you on track. Say one morning you get up and think about going to McDonalds, hopefully that new pair of shoes will come to your mind and you will have the self control to make a sandwich or grab a bowl of cheerios.
3. Change your Routine- Say you wake up at 8 am and have to be ready for work by nine. You usually work out in the afternoon when you get out of work but you usually skip two or three workouts per week because you are tired from the work day. Its a real simple fix. Instead of waking up at 8, wake up at 7 and go for a nice run or go to your local gym. You won’t miss a workout from being tired from your workday and it will actually make you feel good about yourself throughout the day.
Keeping a log, giving yourself incentives and making minor adjustments to your eating habits and daily routines can help get you on the right track for losing weight and becoming the new you. It’s possible and can be done with both hard work and dedication.

I’m sure we can all agree that this is the time of year when people are physically in their offices, while their minds are off planning the holidays. And although planning your holidays is appropriate right now, if you’re not also planning your PR strategy for first quarter of 2011, you’re throwing away great opportunities.
You see, the media doesn’t take the holidays off. Radio and TV shows are still airing and there will still be a newspaper at your door on Christmas morning. The way the media does their work and still finds time to take off to celebrate is by preparing their coverage prior to the holidays. With talk radio for instance, we know that December is when many hosts prerecord interviews so they can run fresh shows in December without having to be in-studio. And at the same time, their producers are scheduling interviews now for January so they can hit the ground running when they’re back at work in the New Year.
Another important thing to remember is that there is a finite amount of airtime and column inches that the media needs to fill. But, who gets that coveted space and time is really a matter of the early bird attracting the worm with the right angle, the right credentials, and the right advice for the audience.
You don’t need a crystal ball to figure out a general sense of what the media will be covering or angles to pitch that will land you some quality interviews. Let’s face it, now is the time when everyone is focused on New Year’s resolutions – things they can do a little better in 2011. Be it weight loss, health, fitness, finances, relationships, careers, and business – just about any issue that comes up in our daily lives is a subject of all New Year’s resolutions. When it comes right down to it, any topic that revolves around providing tips and expertise for either consumers or businesses can fit into this gigantic umbrella topic. If you can offer wisdom on any of those kinds of topics, now is the time. If you wait until the New Year to execute your PR campaign, you stand the chance of being turned down by the media, for no other reason than they already have quotes for their story or a guest scheduled who is an expert on your very same topic.
At the end of the day – or in this case, at the end of the year – if you understand the media’s needs and how you can contribute to them, then you can be one of the notable experts being interviewed on the air or quoted in the news after the ball drops in Times Square. There’s just no better kick-off for your 2011 PR campaign than being the spotlighted expert that consumers are listening to or reading about.

With the New Year soon upon us, many people will start looking for tips and resources that will allow them to lose weight fast. Most people dream of a slimmer, more ripped and sexier body than what they currently have. Fast weight loss that will allow you to achieve your goals of losing weight and have the body of your dreams is possible. This article discusses a few tips in effectively having rapid weight loss.
It is important to remember that being able to lose weight fast is not something that can be achieved overnight by simply skipping a few meals or working out for three hours in one day. Having fast weight loss is still achievable but being realistic is important. It is also important to remember that you should not attempt to achieve rapid weight loss through unsafe weight loss methods.
Although you may want to have rapid weight loss, you also want to be able to maintain this weight loss on a long term basis. You simply do not want to lose weight fast only for the weight to return in a matter of days or a few weeks. You should strive to adopt the lifestyle and behaviors that will ensure that your rapid weight loss is for the long haul.
One of the ways that many people use to achieve rapid weight loss is to use a weight loss cleanse that is commonly referred to as a colon cleanse. A colon cleanse will rid the body of disease causing toxins. Colon cleanses promote a healthier body and one of the positive side effects of a colon cleanse that is properly followed is rapid weight loss.
A colon cleanse should never be a long term solution for weight problems but should be used every now and then to simply allow your body to be in better health. The rapid weight loss experienced with most colon cleanses will usually be gained back immediately if proper behaviors are not adopted.
In order to conquer weight problems and to have the body of your dreams, you need to burn more calories a day that you consume. This is the simple fact to being able to lose weight fast. This does not mean eating less food or consuming foods that are extremely low in calories which are not satisfying anyway and only lead to you consuming large quantities of these foods to satisfy the hunger monster.
It is important to start making better choices in food and always read food labels. One example is to add more fiber especially whole grains to your diet and eliminate all “white” foods which do not put your metabolism to work. Your metabolism is needed to burn more calories a day and enable you to lose weight fast. Adding more fiber to your diet in addition to making your metabolism work, will make you feel full faster so that you do not overeat.
In addition to making smarter food choices, you need to add physical activity which is not only good for your cardiovascular system but will boost your metabolism and allow you to lose weight fast.
Although all exercise is good and will boost your metabolism to some extent, it is important to add weight training exercises to any program that you adopt to help you lose weight fast. This will allow you to build lean muscle and a lean sexy physique that will allow you to lose weight fast.
Lean muscle burns more fat a day as the muscle is repaired and built after each weight training session. Lean muscle development is the single best way to boost your metabolism and achieve rapid weight loss. This is not an area that you can ignore and simply concentrate on changing your diet without making additional changes to your lifestyle. In order to ensure that the weight that you lose is kept off, it is important to make changes in many areas of your life. Making the necessary changes is possible and is the best gift that you can give yourself.

New Year, new you! With the changing of the calendar, this is the perfect time for anyone who’s been thinking about starting a fitness regimen to really get going with it. Even if you already exercise, you can tweak your workouts to make them more efficient. If your goal is to lose a few pounds along with working out, then you’re on the right track to fitness success.
Here are a few easy things you can do to get started on the path to the new fit, trim you in 2011!
1. Start off slowly and build your workouts gradually.
Many people who may be a bit out of shape plunge right into their new workout routine, motivated by their New Year’s resolution to lose weight, but soon find that they can’t sustain the intense activity level because they’re simply not used to it. Start off slowly and you’ll find it easier to keep going for the long term.
2. Find a workout partner.
He or she should be someone who’s in about the same physical shape as you are, and with whom you can coordinate workout dates. Finding someone who’s much more or much less fit than you currently are may well lead to frustration and, subsequently, one of you not exercising.
3. If you join a gym, make sure the opening hours fit your schedule.
Many facilities operate extended hours, but before you plunk down your hard-earned cash to become a member, make sure they’re going to be open when you’re able to go there. Also, check to see what types of training and accreditation the facility’s trainers and coaches have, as you’ll probably want to take advantage of their expertise.
4. Keep your goals realistic, and don’t get discouraged.
Sure, it’s possible to lose 10 pounds in a month, but you’ll put it right back on, with interest, when you stop that strict diet. Aim for a much more achievable pound-per-week loss rate, and combine that goal with your workout regimen and diet. You’ll find that slow and steady definitely wins the fitness race.
With these tips in mind, it’s time to get out there and make your fitness and weight-loss dreams a reality!
