Exercise proves to not only make kids healthier, but also happier. Research has discovered a symbiotic relationship between exercise and self-confidence.

Children who partake in healthy activities are more likely to feel confident in their physical capabilities. This could partly be due to the enormous peer pressure kids’ face. Those who are overweight or don’t exercise may have feelings of inadequacy or may face verbal criticism from other kids, affecting their confidence and efficacy levels. But even if a child is uncoordinated, overweight or unpopular, exercise can still improve their perspective on self.

Even children in situations that can potentially harm self-esteem benefit more when they exercise. One six-week study done by Koniak-Griffin at UCLA (1994) compared pregnant adolescent girls practicing aerobic exercise with those who didn’t. The research concluded that “an aerobic exercise program reduced depressive symptoms as well as improved feelings of self-concept.”

Endorphins play a large role in such increased confidence. When physically active, the brain releases endorphins, creating happiness and a euphoric feeling. Of course, as adolescents, being involved in a group activity not only gives them a sense of belonging, but also helps them forget their worries. Exercise has even proven to prevent psychological and physical illnesses in children.

In return, those with greater levels of confidence are more willing and eager to participate in exercise on a regular basis. If they are sure of their skills, willingness to use those skills increases. But those with low self-esteem tend to either under-eat or over-eat and avoid exercise.

So while perspective of self often affects kids’ exercise, either positively or negatively, the amount of exercise a child engages in also determines their level of self-confidence. The two work together in unison and both are very important for a child’s health and future.

The faith of the future lies in the hands of today’s youth. It is therefore very important to train them how to be a leader at an early age. To start with, they must undergo youth leadership activities.

You can instantly see a born leader when you see one. At a very early age, you will notice that a leader shows certain traits like being independent-minded, patient, strong, hardworking, and many other positive traits. However, leadership can be developed. Through the years of continuous study and training, they soon become successful leaders.

Adolescence is a period of great changes. Each individual, boy or girl, tries very hard to be accepted. Oftentimes, peer pressure can give negative effects. If you don’t want your kid to experience peer pressure and the possible negative influence of other adolescents, your kid should be a member of a certain youth group.

You must know the specific youth group that your child will join. You can find a lot of information regarding youth groups online. Some groups often have online forums where they can share their knowledge and experiences, as well as their problems. Other members of the youth group can share their stories and even give you pieces of advice.

Check the background of the youth group before your kid joins. Make sure that the group has a positive reputation. Once you’ve chosen the best youth group for your kid, then he or she can now join the various youth group activities.

Well of course, the existing members of the group will grow older as years pass and new leaders will take over. In this regard, youth leadership activities are often conducted to determine the potential leaders in the group. What are these leadership activities?

The youth group can organize a camping where they can spend a couple of days together. In the camp, the current youth leaders will be giving a series of games where every member will participate. Group games usually need a leader. At the end of the camp, potential leaders will be named and they are further trained to improve their leadership skills.

Seminars and trainings are often given to the potential leaders. These seminars can enhance the skills of the soon-to-be youth leader. The trainings are also quite helpful because certain knowledge can be imported to your kid.

Being a leader does not stop when you finally leave the youth group. Once your leadership skills are developed or enhanced, you will carry it as you grow older. Who knows, you might be the next senator or even the president of the country.

Youth groups are truly needed in today’s times. The youth are more prone to be involved in vices such as drugs, alcoholism, gambling, and a lot more. If you don’t want your kids to follow the wrong path, encourage them to be a member of a reputable youth group.

The parents play a very important role in the development of their kid’s personality. If you want to help them, talk to your kid now and find a youth group that he or she can join.

Soon, he or she might be involved in youth leadership activities. In time, they may be the next leaders and will help other youths to enhance their leadership qualities. Good luck for finding a good youth group.

The best natural health for kids is one which they enjoy taking, learn to use themselves in time, and totally resolves the problem. This combination provides the most satisfactory results, but can seem a tall order.

Let’s look at each item.

Few people would consider taking a medication an enjoyable experience. And children can create all sorts of reasons not to take it. Parents and medical staff are often firmly routed in the belief that they know best, that the child doesn’t know what is good for them and needs to be forced.

I have come to realise, after years of being in practice, that this concept is faulty. This is not a realisation I came to lightly. But years of watching and learning lead me to this obvious conclusion: the fact that children know far more than adults, what is good for their health. Even babies know best.

By asking the child, or simply showing them the bottle of the medicine you want to give them and watching their reaction, you will come to know what is best for them. Small children are better at this than the older ones, who have started to feel the constraints of peer pressure.

One mum related to me that her toddler firmly grasps the bottle of the medicine she needs and no-one can take it off her for the duration she needs to hold it. Once she is ready to let it go, usually a few hours, her problem has disappeared.

Does this sound a more effective way of treating kids than forcing it, often being held down by more than one adult?

When kids have this measure of control over their own health, they grow up learning all the different names of the medicines and easily grasp the entire concept behind this type of healing. They know what they need, and when.

Natural health means quickly resolving any problem as it arises, not by masking the effects, but by dealing with the cause. This is different for everyone. So everyone needs a different treatment.

Homeopathy is one of the most effective, powerful and rapid modalities of health care, whether natural or not. It’s gentle but deep actions are loved by children. Never again will you have to create clever ways to make them take the medicines. In fact, they will tell you what they want – they’ll be asking YOU.

Logo or Nogo?

Although a logo is not, in itself, a brand, it carries with it the important function of representing your brand. According to Milton Glaser one of the 20th century’s most influential designers. “The logo is the entry point to the brand.” That summarizes the position your brand’s logo should have and the part it plays in your visual portfolio. According to Identity designer, Alison Hulett the logo or trademark is without a doubt the ultimate ‘branding’ tool.

The word “logo” means a name, symbol, or trademark designed for easy recognition. The use of logos goes back to the early days of the Renaissance, around the 13th Century. Goldsmiths, masons, paper makers, and potters, were among the first trades people to use marks—pressings into gold, chiseled symbols, watermarks on paper, and simple thumbprints on pottery.

Trademarks are still used for the same reason. They were established centuries ago: to provide an easy method for recognizing a particular product. These “marks” made it easier to differentiate a quality product from one that was not well made. The value of the craftsmanship represented in the gold, paper, stonework, pottery, etc., could be expressed through the special, distinctive mark on the product.

In today’s world, the logo should be your symbol of guaranteed authenticity. The simple logo design of a reputable brand can impart instant credibility to any product that will turn the market in its favor. Just take a look at the peer pressure generated by the current “trendy” brands among youngsters!

Logos give a crucial first impression of your brand to a potential customer. Hence it is important to see that your logo design is an accurate representation of your marketplace positioning and brand. For service organizations with “invisible” offerings (no tangible products), the logo often represents the offerings.

There are some basic principles of logo design, which will give you a sound starting point as you reach the stage of developing your identity. There needs to be more to your logo design than simply an attractive graphic. It must be symbolic of your merchandise and identity if it is to be of any benefit to your branding.

The logo design should be simple and readable. The viewer should be able to get a sense of the product or service through the logo. The challenge is to create a logo that is effective and simple without being boring.

The logo should convey a sense of emotion and personality. As the user sees the logo, he must be encouraged to learn more and more about your brand. The logo should reflect your brand strategy.

It should be flexible enough to work well in a multi-channel sales environment. The logo design should work in all mediums from black and white, giant or tiny, low-resolution, fax, web, and full-color printing.

Your brand’s logo should look different from other logos. Make sure your logo design has no resemblance to those of your competitors. If it does bear a resemblance any familiar styles you are in for a great loss of potential business, not to mention the legal tussles it could bring about.

The logo for your brand must focus clearly on your unique identity, selling point and merchandise (if you produce physical products) and align with the much broader aspects of your business. In short, it must be fully in synchrony and harmony with your values, ethos, personality, vision and brand image. A very well designed logo will act as a “visual identity” or a “trade mark” for your brand.

The business prospects that a well designed logo will bring in, can be huge. If you are starting out on your business journey, then you would be well advised to sit down with a real graphics designer or logo maker software as soon as you have the cash flow to spare.

If you cannot quite face the costs of a professional graphic designer, there are many sophisticated online and desktop based packages available which will allow you to create a logo via a series of menus. The downside of these is that the logo maker software packages rarely produce an original and inspirational logo design.

It is worth bearing in mind that there are many, many companies who have done rather well without any fancy logos; just look at MacDonald’s, Microsoft and Ford! So, is it Logo or Nogo? Well, I think it’s a YES on balance. It isn’t the first thing to worry about, but as soon as you can afford it and you have a sense of your unique business identity – Go Logo!
